Title: A Minimum Power-Processing-Stage Fuel-Cell Energy System Based on a Boost-Inverter With a Bidirectional Backup Battery Storage
DOI: https://doi.org/10.1109/TPEL.2010.2086490
The paper presents a power electronic converter (EPC) that is the basis of my doctoral research. Its main objective is to reduce the number of power-processing stages needed to integrate a fuel cell (FC) and a backup battery to supply AC loads.
First, I used the skimming technique in two stages. In the first stage, I read the title, the abstract, the figures, and the tables to quickly decide if the paper was interesting for my research. I wanted to know if it really reduced the number of power-processing stages, if it included experimental results, and how complex the proposed control system.
Then, I read the paper again using skimming together with margin notes. I also wrote down questions that came to my mind while I was reading.
