By “previewing the text”, I get a general idea of the paper's sections and contents; additionally, I read the abstract and “ask myself questions” about what I intuitively expect the document to answer. Through a more detailed reading, I “highlight important ideas” and “reread” parts that were not totally clear. The key ideas I have highlighted help me in the future when I need to review the paper for information, allowing me to find them quickly in the document.
