1) Topic: Automatic classification of electric power quality events with respect to their root causes is critical for electrical grid management. In this paper compares a broad range of machine learning models for classifying power quality events quality events, based on their root causes. After extensive experiments using different machine learning libraries, it is observed that Cubic SVM and XGBoost achieved the best performance.
2) I used two active reading strategies, that allowed me to quickly understand the focus of the article, create a brief summary of the most important points, and have a vision of contents, pages, indexes, headings and conclusions.
The active reading strategies are:
a) Annotate in the margins to summarize and raise questions
b) Make mind-maps, diagrams or notes to summarize key points
3) In my case, these strategies allow to read the article optimizing my time because I’m beginning with skimming, and I write short summaries or keywords. In this way I obtain a scheme or a diagram of contents to decide whether a detailed reading of the article is necessary.
